My Wish For 2021 Is…

Dumpster fire. Heaping pile of dog poo. A one-star rating. 2020 stink, stank, stunk. What a year. But the resilience, perseverance, care and determination shown by healthcare workers --nurses-- was epic. We showed up, gowned up and continued providing the best care we possibly could under circumstances that could only be described as a war zone. Some of us quarantined away from our families so we could keep working. Some of us are still in the thick of it. And some of us didn't make it...

I'm grateful for us. For you. Thank you for caring for others. You made the difference. You saved lives, brought people back from the brink and were there holding the hands of the dying.

Today my feed is full of nurse friends and coworkers proudly showing off the band-aid proof of their first dose of the vaccine. Now we are protected. Now we have hope.

My wish for 2021 is for every nurse to feel protected, for improved patient ratios and for all of us to get a real break. What about you? What's your wish for 2021? Share in the comments section below and check back to see what your fellow nurse superstars have shared. Happy 2021, ModernNurse Readers!!!

  2. “She’s the woman who believes that what comes around goes around. The one who hopes for a better day. The one who won’t give up on you. She’s the woman who’s unlike the rest. The one who spends her days smiling, and her nights crying. She’s the woman who would love to beloved. The one who looks so damn strong, but sometimes feels so weak. She’s the woman who picks herself up every times she falls and comes back again to do it all over again” …..She is a Nurse.

  3. I wish that those who refuse to follow protocol will get instead of give.
That we, and the rest of humanity would learn to pray to whatever Deity we believe.
And we truly treat everyone as we want to be treated; at home, at work whether employee or administrators, to our neighbors and strangers.
