L&D RN needed in Fort Bragg, CA - A Labor and Delivery RN offers a balance of the same elements that are found in critical care, OR, ER department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse must have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the doctor. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse must be able to think in a fast passed setting and make decisions quickly. L&D Registered Nurses work closely with the physician and spend long hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a L&D Nurse some of your responsibilities consist of:

Providing assessment of contractions, cervix for dilation, heart rates, etc.
Providing follow-up duties which consist of:

Checking the newborns general condition.
Checking the mothers condition.
Watching for signs of trouble.
Checking for signs of infections and any other troubles.

Requirements

One year of experience as a L&D Registered Nurse within the past two years.

Current RN License in good standing.
Current BLS through American Heart Association.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
