Job Details

L&D RN needed in Fairmont, WV - A Labor and Delivery RN offers a balance of the same elements that are found in critical care, OR, ER department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery RN must have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the doctor. A Labor and Delivery Nurse must be able to think in a fast passed setting and come up with solutions quickly. L&D RNs work closely with the physician and spend long hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse some of your responsibilities consist of:

Assessing contractions, cervix for dilation, heart rates, etc.
Performing follow-up duties which include:

Analyzing the newborns general condition.
Assessing the condition of the mother.
Watching for signs of distress.
Checking for signs of infections and any other complications.

Requirements

One year of experience as a L&D Registered Nurse within the past two years.

Current Nursing License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
Negative Drug Screen.
