L&D RN needed in Edenton, NC - A Labor and Delivery RN offers a balance of the same elements that are found in the ICU, operating room, emergency department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery Nurse must have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the doctor. A Labor and Delivery RN must be able to think quickly and come up with solutions quickly. L&D RNs aide the physician and spend long hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse some of your duties include:

Providing assessment of contractions, cervix for dilation, fetal heart rate, etc.
Performing follow-up duties which include:

Analyzing the newborns general condition.
Assessing the condition of the mother.
Looking for signs of distress.
Watching for signs of infections and any other troubles.

Requirements

One year of experience as a L&D RN within the past two years.

Current RN License in good standing.
Current BLS from American Heart Association.
Negative Drug Screen.

Requirements
