L&D RN needed in Danville, PA - A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides a balance of the same elements that are found in critical care, operating room, ER department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse needs to have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the physician. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse must be able to think in a fast passed setting and come up with solutions quickly. L&D Registered Nurses work closely with the doctor and spend many hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse some of your duties consist of:

Assessing contractions, cervix for dilation, heart rates, etc.
Performing follow-up duties which consist of:

Analyzing the condition of the newborn.
Checking the condition of the mother.
Watching for signs of distress.
Checking for signs of infections and any other complications.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse within the past two years.

Active RN License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

For a historical meal, step back in time at the City Tavern Restaurant and have traditional 18th century colonial meal. For lighter fare, nurses go to Campo's for an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich.


Sports fans will have a lot to cheer about in Pennsylvania with great teams like Steelers, the Eagles, the 76ers, the Phillies and the Pirates. If you somehow run out of things to do in Pennsylvania, remember that Philadelphia is less than two hours from New York City, less than three hours from Washington, DC and most places in Pennsylvania are within a five-hour drive of more than a quarter of the countrys population. Philly is a great homebase for nurses!

Requirements
