Job Details

L&D RN needed in Danville, IL - A Labor and Delivery RN provides a balance of the same elements that are found in the ICU, OR, ER department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery RN has to have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the physician. A Labor and Delivery RN must be able to think quickly and come up with solutions quickly. L&D Nurses assist the doctor and spend many hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a L&D RN some of your duties consist of:

Making assessments of contractions, dilation, fetal heart rate, etc.
Providing follow-up duties which consist of:

Analyzing the newborns general condition.
Assessing the mothers condition.
Watching for signs of distress.
Watching for signs of infections and any other problems.

Requirements

One year of experience as a L&D Registered Nurse within the past two years.

Current Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
Negative Drug Screen.
