Job Details

L&D RN needed in Arcata, CA - A Labor and Delivery Nurse offers a balance of the same elements that are found in critical care, OR, ER department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery Nurse must have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the physician. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse must be able to think on their feet and make decisions quickly. Labor and Delivery RNs aide the obstetrician and spend long hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse some of your duties consist of:

Providing assessment of contractions, cervix for dilation, heart rates, etc.
Providing follow-up duties which include:

Analyzing the condition of the newborn.
Checking the condition of the mother.
Watching for signs of distress.
Watching for signs of infections and any other problems.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse within the past two years.

Current Nursing License in good standing.
Current BLS through American Heart Association.
Negative Drug Screen.

Requirements
