The Staff Auditor works closely with Assistant Director/Director to ensure compliance with SOX internal control procedures and regulations within UHS.

Essential Job Duties

• Assists with the development of the scope for audits and selection and development of appropriate audit procedures with the input of the Assistant Director/Director.
• Maintains internal controls documentation by updating audit testing procedures on a continuous basis to accurately reflect the current process, while assuring that the risk identified is properly mitigated.
• Coordinates and prepares documentation request lists for financially significant processes for selected audits and manages them accordingly.
• Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by reviewing and analyzing supporting documentation.
• Effectively communicates audit findings with Management and process owners by preparing an audit report, and discussing the findings.
• Completes audit work papers by thoroughly documenting audit tests and findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Manages workload in accordance to the projected timelines and updates the audit schedule on a routine basis.
• Leads the completion of audit projects by ensuring that the documentation requests are being fulfilled and coordinating with management to answer any open questions or outstanding items.



Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 1 - 3 years' experience

• Knowledge of Healthcare industry preferred.
• Ability to adapt to diverse and fast changing environments.
• Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.
• Attention to detail/thoroughness. 
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Access
• Continuing Education: Pursue departmental approved program for continuing education for self.
• Travel: 25%
