Position Summary:
Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed acute psychiatric hospital, providing quality care and assistance for children, adolescents, and adults. Our full spectrum of care includes 24-hour, no-cost assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and a chemical dependency intensive outpatient program. For over 20 years, Fremont Hospital has been a leader in the field of mental health and chemical dependency care. Inpatient specialty areas include: latency age program (6-11 years of age); adolescents program (12-17 years of age); specialty care unit; Adolescent Eating Disorder program; Dual Diagnosis unit; and Trauma Unit. We are currently seeking Registered Nurses for various shifts within different units among our Inpatient Program. The RN is responsible for prescribing, coordinating and evaluating patient care activities through collaborative efforts with the interdisciplinary care team in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practice. Additionally, the RN is responsible for the management of a psychiatric unit including oversight of Mental Health Technicians, LPTs, LVNs and/or CNAs.
*Graduate from an accredited RN program required *Currently maintains and possesses an active RN license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing BSN preferred *Minimum of 1 year RN experience in acute or sub-acute setting preferred *Minimum of 6 months behavioral health/psychiatric experience *CPR w/AED certification required before start of employment *Ability to work as a team player *Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent, adult and geriatric) *Knowledge of admission and discharge procedures *Knowledge of charting requirements *Skill in organizing, prioritizing and delegating workloads to meet deadlines *Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff *Ability to use good judgement and dot maintain confidentiality of information *Ability to work as a team player *Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, ownership and dedication *Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures
