Position Summary:

The Recreational Therapist is responsible for assessing patients’ leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of The Pavilion. Hours vary based on staffing and patient needs and include day, evening and weekend shifts. The Recreational Therapist supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups. The Recreational Therapist reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

Education: Bachelors or Master’s degree in related Recreational Therapies field.

Experience: Two years experience in Recreational Therapy field working with a mental health population, prior supervisory experience and program development preferred. Prefer knowledge of group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management.

Licensure/Certification: Possesses current registration, certification or licensure in accordance with state and /or national board standards of specific field of allied health (i.e., art, recreational, music, occupational therapy, psychodrama therapy). Current Certified Recreational Therapy Specialist (CRTS) licensure/certification preferred.
