Position Summary: 

 Responsible for the safety of assigned unit environment & patient population by conducting visual observations of patients, monitoring V/Ss & reporting abnormalities to RN STAT, per physician’s orders to include appropriate documentation. Performs & documents searches & belongings inventories according to policy.
 
Requirements

Reading and numerical competency; 2 year college (Behavioral Science or Nursing) or Emergency Medical Technician preferred. 

Prefer 1 yr in a JCAHO accredited hospital on a psychiatric or chemical dependency unit as a psychiatric aide, mental health worker or technician. 

Must receive healthcare provider CPR and First Aide certification within 90 days of employment.

Must be able to identify and address the special needs for adult and geriatric patients and communicate with the patient. Ability to work as member of an interdisciplinary team. Able to work with patients at all levels of functional ability and from diverse backgrounds
