The Project Manager - Clinical Quality Improvement functions as a subject matter expert directly supporting the Clinical Quality Improvement Team of the Acute Care Division of Universal Health Services.  This position also drives the implementation of service line clinical optimization best practices that support the development of programs that deliver optimal patient care, safety, resource utilization, and outcomes.

Essential Job Duties

  • Identifies existing facility best demonstrated practices. Educates and supports hospital clinical areas in implementation of service line clinical optimization best practices.
  • Develops presentations, work plans, timelines and milestones. Assumes initial responsibility for measuring, tracking, monitoring, and reporting initiatives. Performs status updates.
  • Implements facility level clinical performance improvement projects with hospital executives and facility multidisciplinary teams under the direction of CQI leadership.
  • Drives improved clinical outcomes through the deployment of standard toolkits, processes and clinical assessments. Mobilizes resources required by the identified opportunities.
  • Functions as a resource for service line leadership and executive staff. Facilitates sharing of ideas, strategies, and tactics to achieve targets. Engages physicians/clinicians. Mentors multidisciplinary team leaders and facility staff.
  • Collaborates with Corporate and Facility leaders on the hand off and completion of all initiatives.


Bachelor's degree in nursing with 8 - 10 years' experience required.

  • Eight or more years of experience in Clinical Quality/Operations Improvement or healthcare organization management.
  • Experience in facilitating Clinical Operations Improvement initiatives with division, hospital, and medical staff.
  • Understanding and use of Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Self-motivated, professional, enthusiastic leader with excellent written/verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, open, team environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio and Word.
  • Knowledge of Access preferred.
  • Travel Requirements: 75%
