Mental Health Technician (various shifts)
Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed acute psychiatric hospital, providing quality care and assistance for children, adolescents, and adults. Our full spectrum of care includes 24-hour, no-cost assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and a chemical dependency intensive outpatient program. For over 20 years, Fremont Hospital has been a leader in the field of mental health and chemical dependency care. Inpatient specialty areas include: latency age program (6-11 years of age); adolescents program (12-17 years of age); specialty care unit; Adolescent Eating Disorder program; Dual Diagnosis unit; and Trauma Unit

We are currently seeking Mental Health Technicians for various shifts within different units among our Inpatient Program. The MHT functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging from latency age (6years) to geriatrics. Mental Health Technicians work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.   
·       ​​High School Degree or equivalent; degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or related discipline preferred. Specialized training in    group dynamics and facilitation may be substituted for education.
·       On e (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.
·       Experience in group facilitation, program implementation, knowledge of psychotherapeutic interventions and psychiatric diagnosis preferred.
·       CPR w/AED certification required
·       Ability to work as a team player
·       Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent, adult and geriatric)
·       Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff
·       Ability to use good judgement and maintain confidentiality of information
·       Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, ownership and dedication
·       Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures
