Position Summary:
Foundations Behavioral Health provides innovative behavioral health treatment to children, adolescents, and young adults. Established in 1964, Foundations Behavioral Health provides treatment in a homelike environment located on a 12 acre campus in Bucks County, PA. Foundations provides a full continuum of care for children, adolescents, and young adults spanning hospitalization to academic services. Specialized treatment is provided in a safe, clinically sound, and nurturing setting, where young people can work on the difficulties that are distressing for them and/or their families. Successful treatment provides a full understanding of problematic behaviors/illnesses and provides individuals with tools and a compass to navigate life’s challenges. The Mental Health Technician participates in observing, reporting and recording of patient behaviors under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. Responsibility for helping to provide a safe and secure unit environment for all patients and staff in compliance with hospital policies and procedures ***This position is a 40 hour a week position requiring every other weekend****
Must be 21 years of age. Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent plus 12 college credits and 2 years related experience, or Bachelor’s degree in human services field plus 1 year related experience. Requires good written and verbal communication skills. Requires the ability to organize and to facilitate recreation, arts and other group activities for up to twelve clients at a time. Must be able to communicate clearly and legibly in writing. Must be able to maintain constant interactions with patients experiencing psychiatric disorders. Skills Required: Frontline Support
