Position Summary:

Position Purpose: The Director of Program Integration ensures the integration of our regulatory and program standards into the daily operation of The Hughes Center.

The Hughes Center is a provider of Residential Treatment Services for boys and girls ages 13 to 22 diagnosed as intellectually disabled or diagnosed with any pervasive developmental disorder, such as Autism or Asperger's Syndrome.

Day School: The Hughes Educational Center is a community-based day school for male and female students, kindergarten through 12th grade.

Our goal is to help young men and women learn the skills they need to be successful in their homes, schools and communities.

Requirements

The following are the Key Responsibilities for the Director of Program Integration: 

1. Ensures the facilities daily practice is consistent with the standards of practice of the facility policies and program standards, along with the regulations and code of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

2. Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the facilities programs and services including overseeing assessments, service planning, staff scheduling and supervision.

3. Provides facility direction in responding to crisis situations and manages resident behaviors, as required.

4. Assists in the development and implementation of the treatment plan for each resident by participating in team meetings, as requested.

5. Follow procedure for proper documentation, and review of documentation.

6. Ensure facility compliance in regulatory standards, with specific focus on Family Engagement (both activities and documentation), daily required interventions & Q15 minute checks.

7. Protect and maintain resident health and safety, including respecting Human rights, & participating in PI and corporate compliance duties.

8. Serves as Administrator On Call (AOC)

9. Performs other duties as assigned, based on the needs of the facility.

Performance Standards:

Unit of Measure:
• Schedule weekly activities, in addition to our Open House hours, for families to engage weekly.
• Ensure required documentation on engagement activities are completed appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Provide training and feedback to staff to ensure compliance with regulations and policy.
• Addresses identified problems by planning and implementing corrective action and follow-up.
• Assist the assigned clinician with the identification of family members who could participate in the family engagement process.
• Develops, allocates and operationalize fiscal plans and capital purchase acquisitions to further the facilities ability to provide activities for families.
• Assures policies, procedures and practice are consistent with facility mission statement.  

The Director of Program Integration shall implement services and assure compliance with established standards of
Practice regarding the required daily interventions for residents.

Unit of Measure:
• Ensure each cottage has a program standard regarding when and how each intervention will be delivered.
• Ensure all required interventions are delivered in an appropriate and therapeutic nature for each resident.
• Ensure all required documentation on the required Interventions are completed appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Provide training and feedback to staff to ensure compliance with regulations and policy.
• Addresses identified problems by planning and implementing corrective action and follow-up.
• Assures policies, procedures and practice are consistent with facility mission statement. 

The Director of Program Integration shall implement services and assure compliance with established standards of
practice regarding the required Q15 minute checks for residents.

Unit of Measure:
• Ensure all required Q15 minute checks are completed in an appropriate and thorough nature for each resident.
• Ensure all required documentation on the required 15 minute checks are completed appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Provide training and feedback to staff to ensure compliance with regulations and policy.
• Addresses identified problems by planning and implementing corrective action and follow-up.
• Assures policies, procedures and practice are consistent with facility mission statement. 


The Director of Program Integration shall perform delegated functions within areas of responsibility.

Unit of Measure:
• Utilizes time, supplies and equipment appropriately.
• Demonstrates initiative and positive problem- solving behaviors.
• Assures standards are met for compliance with employee safety and infection control requirements.
• Participates in committees and insures recommendations are implemented.
• Participates in the monthly Quality Council and Leadership meetings.
• Supports the facility staff and program as Administrator on Call. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience
:
A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, nursing or Special Education and three years of full time paid work experience in a residential facility for children and in administration or supervision

Or

A baccalaureate degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or Education and five years full time paid experience as an employee working in a residential facility for children, and in administration or supervision

Or

A baccalaureate degree and a combination of four years professional experience as an employee working in a residential facility for children, and in administration or supervision

Knowledge: A thorough knowledge providing clinical services and management principles. Demonstrates knowledge of fiscal management and reimbursement.


Physical Requirements: Position responsibilities require a very moderate level of physical exertion: some mobility between buildings. Frequent sitting with ability to change positions, stand or walk. Preference for candidate who is capable of performing CPR or physically managing an aggressive resident.
