Position Summary:
 Previous work experience in engineering, preferably in a health care environment, with significant supervisory experience in the engineering field required. Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory codes regarding Fire and Life Safety Codes, building and engineering codes required. Must possess a general knowledge of maintenance and operation of HVAC equipment, hospital life support systems, bio-medical equipment, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and grounds maintenance. Strong management skills and the ability to communicate, both in oral and written form, in a clear and concise manner with staff and administrative personnel required.
 
Requirements
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for sustained period of time, walk, pull, lift objects from a lower to higher position or horizontally from position to position; express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately or quickly. 
Physical ability is required to perform any heavy maintenance project.   Visual acuity is needed while cleaning to ensure that work is being done correctly. Work is moderately heavy with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Work involves considerable walking, standing, pushing and pulling of equipment. Frequent reaching for and handling of cleaning tools, and maintenance tools/equipment. Work is completed both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to assist in crisis intervention prevention/therapeutic holds on out of control patients.
Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures; knowledge of department and personnel policies
Skill in oral and written communication; skill in the operation of cleaning and maintenance equipment; 
Ability to plan, organize and conduct maintenance processes in a timely manner; This job requires understanding of and compliance with River Crest Hospital’s safety and loss control policies.  
 
High School diploma or GED equivalent. Previous work experience in engineering, preferably in a health care environment, with significant supervisory experience in the engineering field required. Clean driving record.
