Texoma Medical Center, a 351-bed healthcare system has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. Position Summary: Coordinates on-site and off-campus initial screening assessments for potential facility patients; assures effective referral source liaison and communication within legal/ethical requirements regarding requested screenings; assists potential patients/referral sources in security appropriate treatment disposition whether admitting to BHC or not; completes assigned referral/marketing reports; and maintains an inquiry follow-up system. This position will be housed out of the BHC Intake Department but their primary responsibility is responding to the main campus' psychiatric assessment and disposition needs within 20 minutes of the request. The BHC Liaison Assessor will work in close collaboration with the case manager's and nursing staff at the main hospital.

 
Requirements
Minimum of Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related mental field. Licensed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-LMSW or LPC. Or licensed RN.

Current CPR certification is preferred.

Minimum of one year post graduate experience, particularly related to psychiatric assessments.

BHC Core competencies - medical detoxification protocol; safety and security of the environment; the suicidal/homicidal patient; seclusion and restraint; appropriate utilization; age specific concerns of adult and geriatric psychiatric patients; legal aspects of psychiatric medicine; professional conduct/ethics and boundaries; psychoactive medications; TDMHMR; patient bill of rights (confidentiality, abuse, neglect).

Knowledge of Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency Treatment in the State of Texas, must be able to identify and address the special needs of children/adolescents, adult, dually diagnosed and geriatric patients, must also be able to communicate effectively with the patient.
