Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 108-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres in Sparks, Nevada. Position Summary: Under administrative supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Behavioral Health Assessment Coordinator manages, markets, plans and organizes the Geropsychiatric Inpatient and medical detoxification admission processes, including but not limited to evaluations regarding appropriateness for admission, insurance preauthorization and utilization review, benefits verification, communication and coordination with any legal guardians and successful informational handoffs with RNs. This position also includes case management for the medical detoxification program. . S/he assists Director with the accurate collection and analysis of data regarding referral sources, admission trending, and non-admissions due to not meeting criteria for the unit. This position includes post discharge follow up of medical detoxification patients at 3 days post discharge. The population can include adolescents, adult and geriatric populations.

 
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Current licensure in the State of Nevada as a LCSW or RN 
  • Experience working in a behavioral health treatment setting. 
  • Basic Life Support certification. May obtain once hired within 90 days of employment.
