Established in 1986, the Anchor Hospital campus of Southern Crescent Behavioral Health System is a 122-bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for Adolescents, Adults and Senior Adults. Located in College Park, GA, Anchor Hospital serves Mental Health and Substance Abuse patients from all over the Southeast. We are committed to excellence in diagnosis, treatment and education. Patients who come to Anchor Hospital are in crisis, and the road to recovery for behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse patients is a difficult one. The staff at Anchor Hospital serve as compassionate guides who provide for our patients’ clinical needs.
Responsible for delivering quality nursing care to both psychiatric and chemically dependent adult, geriatric and adolescent patients. To assess the needs of walk-in and phone callers and ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address their needs. Other responsibilities include being able to perform all aspects of the hospital’s assessment and referral process including efficient communication with referral sources, immediate patient/client disposition, arranging hospital transfer/discharge, and/or making connections to other community agencies and resources. Staff must be able to work at least one (1) weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday), as needed

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
2. Experience: Prefer one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse. Prefer six (6) months in psychiatric nursing. Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.
3. License/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. Current Handle with Care and CPR Certification required.
4. Skills: Demonstrated leadership, communication, teaching and management skills.
5. Physical Requirements: Work is physically and mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs. Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds.
6. Other: Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer or Director of Assessment and Referral Services
