The UHS Behavioral Health division has an opportunity for an Admissions Counselor at our Rolling Hills Hospital facility located in Franklin, Tennessee. At Rolling Hills Hospital, we offer behavioral health services for Adolescents, Adults, Adults with dual diagnoses, and Older Adult/Geriatrics. As an Admissions Counselor at Rolling Hills Hospital, you will help coordinate and process admissions into the hospital. The Admissions Counselor conducts comprehensive and conclusive clinical assessments to assist in determining the most appropriate level of care for each referral. The Admissions Counselor will ensure that all admissions to all levels of care are correctly processed with physicians, unit staff, and potential funding sources. The Admissions Counselor works collaboratively with Respond personnel in the admissions process to provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, while correctly prioritizing safety concerns. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for completing nursing assessments on each new patient and initiates the medical/nursing treatment of care.



• Master's Degree in Behavioral Health Field (e.g. Counseling, Social Work, Psychology)


• RN License strongly preferred
• Current Tennessee Driver’s License


Experience in psychiatric evaluation, triage, and crisis stabilization preferred; reading, writing, and mathematical skills at the master’s degree level; skills in application of DSM methodology; excellent telephone etiquette and tact; audible speech, with good enunciation; ability to interact effectively with persons of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, those in crisis or resistant or negative toward organization; effective oral and written communication skills; skills in analyzing and evaluating information; ability to concentrate on tasks and meet deadlines; basic data entry skills preferred; organizational, time management, problem solving, crisis management skills necessary; flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress necessary.
