Position Summary:

Stonington Institute began serving recovering alcoholics in 1957 as Starlight Farms, a working farm where adults in recovery were introduced to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Our main campus is located in North Stonington, CT, in its original private and peaceful rural setting, offering medical detoxification as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military servicemembers.

Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment. The clinic is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all guests.

We accept private insurance, state-funded plans and self-pay arrangements.

The Activities Coordinator develops the curriculum for on-grounds recreational activities for adult clients in substance abuse treatment. S/He leads activities as well as training staff to do so, and monitoring to ensure program quality.  Administrative duties include maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and program planning.

Regular, on-time attendance is critical, as is the ability to complete assigned tasks to high standards. This position includes weekend and second shift hours

CTRS strongly preferred. The successful candidate is independent, motivated, works well without direct supervision, and has a strong work ethic. At least one year prior experience in a health care setting is required, ideally with behavioral health/substance abuse population.
