Position Summary:

Coastal Harbor Health System is a multi campus behavioral health system comprised of Adult and Adolescent Acute hospitals, long term residential treatment center for youth, partial, outpatient and foster care programs.   

  1. Preparation and posting of journal entries to accurately reflect the operations of the Hospital.
  2. Reconciliation of balance Sheet Accounts
  3. Summarization of data for Cost Report Preparation
  4. Summarization of key indicators for the hospital
  5. Assistance with the preparation of the annual budgets
  6. Preparation of analytical schedules as needed
  7. Responsible for maintaining accounting procedures and internal controls compliance
  8. Randomly audits work flow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized
  9. Substantiates and justifies expenditures and expense reports
  10. Assists with monthly closing process
  11. Works on special projects as needed
  12. Supervises the payroll processing and audit/review for accuracy
  13. All other duties as assigned.
 
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.        EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting and 3-5 years of experience processing payroll.  Requires proficient data entry skills and proven ability to use electronic data processing equipment and related payroll and financial software applications.

2.        CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None required.

3.        LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret payroll reports, payroll related technical procedures, and governmental regulations.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, individual employees, and outside agencies. 

4.        MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and apply basic concepts of math.  Elementary use of computer spreadsheet programs.

5.        REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

6.        PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk , and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment for this position is a corporate office setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
